Street Youth Ministry
Terry and Martha Cole are members of Covenant Presbyterian Church, along with their two children, Lucie and Laura. Street Youth Ministry focuses on street dependent youth in Austin. Terry works on the streets of Austin to know, counsel, assist and witness to about 100 street dependent men and women, ages 17 to 25, each month. Terry works primarily around the “Drag” area, west of the University of Texas campus. He has volunteered with homeless youth since 2003. Street Youth Ministry, founded in 2008, works in partnership with Lifeworks Street Drop-in Center and many local churches. The mission provides direct services (food, clothing, access to medical and dental, and sound counseling) for street dependent youth to help them survive and offers Christian witness and discipleship to see their lives transformed. Street Youth Ministry provides opportunities for individuals and groups from the community to volunteer. See StreetYouthMinistry.org and click the “Get Involved” tab. Terry provides community education on how to better understand and help homeless youth by speaking to groups and individuals.
Terry’s birthday is August 30. Terry and Martha’s wedding anniversary is July 14. Lucie’s birthday is May 27. Laura’s Birthday is September 5. The anniversary of Terry’s full-time ministry is August 2008.
