Communion Conversation

Once a year, children and parents interested in learning more about the sacraments of communion and baptism are invited to remain after the 11:00 a.m. worship service for “Communion Conversation.” Children learn the meaning of symbols and sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The conversation concludes with children and adults receiving communion together. See Covenant newsletters and weekly announcements for upcoming “Communion Conversation” meetings.

Trunk-or-Treat through the Bible

“Trunk-or-Treat through the Bible” is a fun-filled fellowship event for the whole family. Car owners get to use their creativity to decorate the back of their vehicle to reflect a story from the Bible, dress up as the character and hand out treats related to their theme while they talk about the story. Instead of going house to house for candy, children go “car to car” for inspirational favors, tattoos, candy or any item relateing to the Bible story being depicted. For example, a trunk is transformed into “Noah’s Ark” complete with stuffed animals going up a ramp and a person dressed as Noah hands out small packages of animal crackers. It’s a great chance for children and adults alike to dress up and learn more about Bible stories, the truths they bring and what they mean in our lives.

In addition to “Trunk-or-Treating” there will be a moonwalk and other festive activities for families to celebrate together.

“Trunk-or-Treat through the Bible” happens the last Sunday afternoon in October in the Covenant Presbyterian Church parking lot.

Advent Event

Join us for “Journey to Bethlehem.” Step back in time and explore the chaotic and extraordinary events surrounding the birth of Jesus. Parents and children participate together to make and eat traditional treats, create authentic craft projects and pet real baby animals. Advent Event is an intergenerational experience intended to help us prepare our hearts and minds to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas: the Messiah’s birth! Advent Event is usually scheduled for the Wednesday following Thanksgiving weekend.

Lent Event

Lent Event is an intergenerational experience for families to share and learn more about the season of Lent. Parents and children participate in various activities reflecting the events surrounding the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Join us and we prepare our hearts and minds to celebrate the Good News! Lent Event is usually scheduled for the evening of Ash Wednesday.

Christmas in July

In July, Children’s holds a celebration called “Christmas in July” where kids 1st-4th grade take over the fourth floor gym to celebrate the birth of Christ in the middle of summer. The birthday bash includes games, bouncy houses, Christmas crafts, Christmas music and party food. Sure, Christmas is five months away in December, but we should celebrate the birth of Christ each and every day of the year!

Learn the Word

Our goal at Covenant Presbyterian Church is to make Sunday mornings the best part of every child’s week! We want to provide a safe place where kids can grow down, out, and up in their walk with Jesus Christ. Serving God’s children is an honor and one that we enjoy and look forward to each and every day. We hope to see you soon!
