Senior Adult Ministry Activities Day Continues August 18
The last Activities Day this summer is on August 18 in the Fellowship and Education Building. The activities day, conceived in part as a summer replacement for the VISIONS luncheons, starts at 10 a.m. with a brief devotional. We then choose from a variety of games including bingo, dominoes, bridge, various board games and jigsaw puzzles. Lunch is provided at noon by Mark Toussaint (reservations required, call 454-5231) and a movie is shown from 1 to 2:30. You can attend all or just some of the activities, and guests are welcome. The program will continue in September. Details soon to follow.
Eighty-seven people, including 18 guests, attended the first activities day on June 23. Here are a few comments from attendees: “What a great idea;” “I’m really impressed! Thanks for including your neighbors;” and “It was great! Well organized, well supervised.”
The Senior Activities Day program was organized by the Senior Adult Ministry. Committee members are Martha Bombaugh (Chair), Ann Glass, Billie Fay Grayson (Elder Liaison), Fred Hartmann, Bill McCaleb, Charlie Meyer (Secretary), Don and Joanne Myers, Shirley Thomas and Kay Vacha. Rick MacArthur is the director of the Senior Adult Ministry, and Mary Jo North is the administrative assistant.
