At the request of Zambian pastors, Covenant members travel to Zambia to assist in planting new churches and help with the healthcare needs of the country‘s poor. When local churches decide that they want to establish a New Covenant fellowship, our volunteers assist with the process, and train the pastors and elders. In 2008, the Covenant team assisted Reverend Andrew Chipeta plant two new Presbyterian Churches, Reverend Joseph Phiri a Reformed Church of Zambia (RCZ), and Pastor Winfred Kapapa a Baptist Church. Fifteen students from the Justo Mwale Theological College assisted in this effort.

How can I help/participate?
While there are many healthcare and health-related components of this trip, we also help with many other things. If you are interested in traveling to Zambia, you can

  • be a church planter, a person who evangelizes the Christian faith and assists and trains the Zambians to set up a New Covenant fellowship.
  • work as a healthcare professional to assess and treat the people.
  • work in schools with the children of Zambia.

You also can volunteer to be a “sender” for this trip by

  • assisting in planning and publicizing the trip.
  • transporting the Go team to and from the airport.
  • updating the congregation on the team’s progress abroad.
  • assisting in pharmacy preparation by counting and packaging pills.
