Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Covenant Prayer Shawl Ministry provides shawls, blankets or wraps to anyone enduring life-altering treatments and chronic illnesses, as well as to families grieving the loss of a loved one. We knit or crochet these gifts of love as a tangible reminder that God is ever-present. Recipients have shared that these handmade pieces bring reassurance and the feeling of being “wrapped” in God’s love during a difficult time.
We welcome all ages and skill levels—we instruct those new to knitting and crocheting. Every meeting is a gathering of dedicated servants: We have prayer, share stories and feedback from past recipients, and read thank you notes from families. We meet the first and third Tuesday of every month from 1:30-3 p.m. in FE 104.
The Covenant Prayer Shawl Ministry partners with Dell Children’s Medical Center, providing blankets and wraps to the families being served by that facility. This ministry is composed of women of many faiths, and its membership is not limited to Covenant church members.
