Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world. Toward this end, Habitat uses volunteers and donated resources to build and rehabilitate simple, decent houses for families living in poverty. Habitat houses are sold to families at no profit, and are financed with affordable loans. The homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments are used to build more Habitat houses.

Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need. Habitat has built more than 200,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1,000,000 people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter.
