Cuba
Download the 2009 Cuba Reflections report.
The Cuba partnership is about developing long-term relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ at Luyanó Presbyterian Church in Havana, Cuba. Because of the political climate in Cuba, volunteers aim to create relational bonds with Luyanó congregation members, rather than the traditional physical building that mission trips often provide.
When:
The principle Cuban Mission trip takes place in October or November when volunteers spend a week in Havana. Registration for the trip takes place from February to May, allowing ample time to prepare proper travel documentation. In addition, spring and/or summer mission trips to participate in special events like church anniversaries, international youth conferences and vacation bible school are typically available for Covenant veterans who have previously spent a week with our sister church.
How can I help/participate?
To help with the Cuba Mission trip, you can
- volunteer to go on the fall trip as one of the 15 (maximum) Covenant members who travel to Havana.
- volunteer to return to Cuba for any of the trips.
- contribute supplies, such as over-the-counter medicines and baby goods.
- pray for those traveling to Cuba.
