The Oasis class members come from varying ages, occupations and interests. The class studies variable topics throughout the year through DVD presentations, lecturers from the community and class-led presentations. Classes often involve active discussion.
Fall 2011
Starting on Aug. 28, our Oasis class will present the history of and differing perspectives on Israel. The class will learn about current issues from Alex Weinreb, a University of Texas faculty member and an Israeili citizen, and Bob Woodberry, also a UT faculty member and the son of Christian missionaries in the Middle East. On different weeks, Weibreb will present the Israeli sentiment; Woodberry, the Palestinian Christian sentiment. Mark Regnerus will also lead several classes.
