What We Believe

At Covenant Presbyterian Church, we abide by the following Mission Statement:

By God’s own grace and power, Covenant Presbyterian Church will be a church of passionate worship, sacrificial service, respectful evangelism, authentic fellowship, and rich discipleship; a place where seekers are invited and equipped to become mature disciples of Christ in Austin and around the world.

What does this truly mean? It is very simple—as followers of Jesus Christ, we are meant to connect to him, grow as his disciples and care for his people.

Connect

We worship a loving God who is worthy of our praise; who we believe to be supreme and personal; who deeply wants to know and care for us and who has revealed Himself to us through Jesus Christ’s life, death and resurrection. We also find Him fully revealed as loving and available in His Word, the Bible. We are to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. He also asks us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves so that we connect both to God and to others.

Grow

Because of our love for God, we are obedient to his commands to pray, spend time studying his Word, the Bible, and becoming more like his son, Jesus. Covenant intentionally helps members develop a deeper understanding of Christ through teaching and spending time with other Christians. Covenant offers many opportunities to help us understand his Word and will for us.

Care

We are God’s hands and feet. He has asked us to “feed his sheep.” He calls us to fulfill his plan and tell others of his love for us. We value every member as a minister so our love for God and what He has done for us compels us to share the story of Jesus’ redemption to those around us. Each member of Covenant has a unique contribution of gifts and talents that are offered to the world around us with tenderness, passion and care.
